The original building of the Chopo Museum is a product of late 19th century technology. The structure was manufactured just before the turn of the century in Oberhausen, Germany, as a pavilion for an exhibition on industry and art in Düsseldorf.

The Museum of Islamic Art is located on the south side of Doha's Corniche on a man-made island sixty meters from the shore. A new C-shaped peninsula provides protection from the Arabian Gulf on the north and from unsightly industrial buildings on the east.

The building known as "Frog Queen" houses several engineering offices and an attached test facility for an engineering firm based in Graz. The basic geometric shape of the structure is a cuboid.
