The focal point of the project is a transparent three-story circular Pavilion containing a lounge, bar, and an outdoor café, serving as the new main entrance to the Concert Hall.

In keeping with the “Tivoli spirit,” white lacquered, twisted alu strings create a joyful facade that catches and reflects the sun and the many lamps at night.

When Tivoli’s Concert Hall was built in 1956 it was the largest and most modern concert hall in the Nordic countries. The careful restoration includes acoustics, stage, orchestra facilities, new seating, as well as access for the disabled.

A former gaming space below the Concert Hall has been transformed into a new Lobby with a spectacular 30 meter “Coral Reef” aquarium as the main attraction and light source for the Lobby.

A new building, facing the street, contains a large day-lit rehearsal hall for Tivoli’s Symphony Orchestra, a ground floor restaurant, and a conference center, overlooking Tivoli gardens, above the rehearsal hall.

3XN won the competition for the new addition and renovation in partnership with Birch & Krogboe and NCC.
