Calatava's design for the "Turning Torso" is inspired by the human form in motion, and evolved from one of his sculptures in an exhibition.

The 'Turning Torso' will be a visible symbol in the exciting area aroundØresund and the Øresund Bridge. The West Harbor, once a desolated industrial area, is today one of the most beautiful quarters in the city; close to City Centre, Malmö Högskola (Malmö College), and the new business area.

The Roof terrace

The site
The Bo01 area under construction is based on the medieval European City with small houses and lots. The buildings towards the sea will form a wall against the strong winds; the houses behind will be low with small, intimate yards. There will be parks, a harbor, and a promenade at the seaside.
