For the two Dockland Shows in 1988 Fisher Park used the old warehouses around the edges of the docks, and projected images onto them which drew in part on the history of the area, overlaying the physical structures with images of the past.

Both the Wall and Jean-Michel Jarre's shows were spectacular ephemeral events staged in the midst of historic change , and can be seen as indicators of a new era in which the city was increasingly altering its raison d'etre. London Docklands rapidly undergoing redevelopment as a financial centre whilst Berlin was moving towards unification. Both were coming to terms with the urban consequences of a post-industrial economy and with an increasing emphasis of the urban centre as a source of leisure activities and entertainment.

In effect, what appears to be taking place is the the atricalisation of the city, a process anticipated in the work of Archigram and especially in Mike Webb's "Sin Centre".
