Nine month before the inauguration a tour of the Disney Concert Hall construction site confirms it was worth waiting 14 years...

The main entry will be on Grand Avenue and First Street diagonally opposite the existing Music Center complex.
Following are the latest images from the construction site.

The building facing Second Street, a simple box clad in stone, was an addition to the original design to house the Music Center administrative offices.
The building is clad in stainless steel panels with an angel hair finish. All the panels are the same size and every single panel can be removed from any part of the building at any time. Before, like in Bilbao, you would have to start at the base of the building to get to the panel you would want to remove.

The size and weight of the panels makes it possible for two people to carry.

The cloud-like hardwood ceiling in the 2,273 seat Concert Hall is shaped to achieve the warmest possible natural sound and acoustic intimacy.
P.S. Next year Gehry Partners will be moving from their current Santa Monica offices to a 40,000-square-foot warehouse space located in the Marina del Rey section of Los Angeles.
