Swans and Eggs dressed for the Danish winter......

The other day, a typical cold and wet Fall day in Copenhagen, I passed by the House of Birger Christensen and......there in the middle of the window was the Arne Jacobsen "Egg" dressed for the winter in a fabulous fur coat!
It looked so warm and cozy, I wanted to sneak in, cuddle up and........
I did venture inside the House, with the beautiful high-tech staircase designed by Eva Jiricna, and there were more warmly dressed Arne Jacobsen chairs; the Swan in shearling, "Number Seven" in different colors of Russian lamb and lots of poofs in rabbit, raccoon and stenciled furs. I loved all of them.

Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) brought Modernism to perfection with a simplicity that made his buildings Internationally renown.

The House of Birger Christensen has been synonymous with both Danish and International fur and fashion design for over 130 years. The code words for everything wearing the Birger Christensen name have always been "quality" and "expertise".

To celebrate their new line "Birger Christensen Living" the House has dressed Arne Jacobsen’s famous chairs "the Egg", "the Swan" and Number Seven in different fur coats.
