The design by Danish architects schmidt hammer lassen was recently awarded first prize in the International competition for the mega development “Chongquing Sunshine 100”.
schmidt hammer lassen will also design close to 4,000 individual residences totalling 300,000 to 400,000 square meters.

The 1,180,000 square meter development is located in a mountainous area by the Yangtze River, near Chongquing City.
In the masterplan by schmidt hammer lassen the larger commercial units are located on mountain terraces and the free standing buildings along the River promenade. The residences are placed on the ridges offering spectacular views of the landscape.

The commercial part of the masterplan containing offices, retail stores, restaurants and cinemas will be designed by an Australian firm.
