The 1999 Border Grill in Las Vegas, located in the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, is Josh Schweitzer's latest restaurant. it is a 13,000 square foot two story restaurant with 350 seats divided between three dining rooms and a large pool side patio on the ground floor, and on the second floor a cantina and bar overlooking the dining rooms with a patio overlooking the 11 acre pool complex of the hotel.

The interior colors of pink, brown, orange and yellow celebrate the bold use of color in Mexican architecture and the entire space is animated with murals by artists, Su Huntley and Donna Muir, who have worked with Schweitzer BIM on several other projects.

Schweitzer BIM designed the large hanging lamps in the dining rooms, the chairs and tables for the dining rooms, cantina and patios, the bar stools and tables, the tableware including glassware and china and the uniforms for the wait staff.
