The three partners opened the Münich, Germany office in 1987.
Philosophy:
The work in our office is determined by the search for the appropriate typology, which is able to sum up the nature and the peculiarity of the task. The way we approach a scheme, is to start on a totally naive basis, in order to avoid existing typologies. The step of going into the phase of detailed planning is willingly delayed with keeping the relevant influences vague as long as possible.
We do not use general formal systems, every project develops its own aesthetic system.
In the progress we are not only interested in creating architecture, but also in the way it is perceived and the resultant questions.
Which changes can be discovered in the experience of architecture with altering perceptive habits?
In which way is it possible to define and who or what is determining architectural quality?
How can a dialogue arise between the viewer, the building and its users?
How can a building be popular, in the original meaning, without the necessity of being opportunistic?
The development of an architectural position is worthless without the ability to integrate it into society?
