Craig Hodgetts Craig Hodgetts received his Masters in Architecture with honors from the Yale University School of Art and Architecture. After undergraduate study in automotive design at General Motors Institute and in Theater Arts from Oberlin College. While at Yale he was fortunate to study under reknowned architects Charles Moore and James Stirling; he was further influenced by the latter through his early experience as planner at James Stirling's Manhattan office. Between 1969 and 1984, Craig Hodgetts collaborated with Robert Mangurian in the Firm of Studio Works, during which time he received three First Design Awards from Progressive Architecture magazine. In 1984, Craig Hodgetts left Studio Works to pursue a broad range of projects with his current partner, Hsin-Ming Fung. In addition to his architectural and design practice, Craig Hodgetts is also a member of MOCA's Architecture ond Design Support Council. He was a Founding Dean at the California Institute of the Arts and is presently a full professor at UCLA's School of Architecture and Urban Planning. The work of Craig Hodgetts has been acknowledged with numerous awards and citations. He and Hsin-Ming Fung received the prestigious Architecture Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1994, and most recently the 1996 Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design. He has written many articles on the arts, architecture, and entertainment, and is a frequently invited lecturer on topics ranging from urban design to film.
Hsin-Ming Fung Educated at the University of California, Los Angeles (M.Arch. 1980), Hsin-Ming Fung is currently associate professor at the California State Polytechnic University School of Environmental Design in Pomona, Cailfornia. She also taught at Southern California School of Architecture on a Visiting Professorship from 1993-1995 and at Yale University in 1995. In 1996 Hsin-Ming Fung was granted the Herbert Baumer Distinguished Visiting Professorship at Ohio State University. Hsin-Ming Fung's work has been exhibited at the Los Angeles Museum of Science and Industry, the Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, The Museum of Contemporary Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She is President of the Board of the Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design, and is also a Board member of the Architecture and Design Council of The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Hsin-Ming Fung was the 1991 recipient of the National Endowment for the Arts Rome Prize Advanced Fellowship through the American Academy. She and Craig Hodgetts were awarded the prestigious Architecture Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1994, and most recently the 1996 Chrysler Award for Innovation in Design. |
