Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Diamond Island is an artificial islet on the Saigon River, lying on the fringe of a new emerging centre in Ho Chi Minh City, Thu Thiem. Due for the development of a series of high-rise luxury apartments, Vo Trong Nghia Architects designed a set of hut-like structures to make use of empty land during the sites gradual development. Scattered throughout the riverside park in lush vegetation, these bamboo pavillions act as flexible event spaces, hosting parties, banquets and conferences for the local residents as well as visiting tourists.
