To make the best use of space, within building regulations, the architects have constructed the house on three levels, spatially related but with specific and different characteristics. Concrete walls around the house provides privacy to the interior and the garden.

The Ground Level is an open area containing all public spaces. Glass doors open to the garden and pool. To maximize the outdoor areas the garage is inserted under the kitchen.
In the concept for this small house, on the tiniest area of flat land, in the vicinity of Aldeia de Juso where a high density of new houses will be built, we were drawn to some sort of "obsession" about the possibilities of dilating space. Underlying this question, the importance of "expanding" the outdoor space becomes a particular central aspect, since it is also a building integrated in a semi-rural area, where people go looking for the experience of inhabiting a garden or open yard spaces./ARX & Stefano Riva

The First Floor, containing the bedrooms, overhangs the ground level to maximize the useable area which include private terraces. The exterior walls are concrete, with a textured surface that resemble wooden boards. The Roof Terrace has a 360º view of the surrounding houses, the sea and the magnificent Sintra Mountains.
