IAC InterActivecorp Headquarters
Gehry Partners, LLP
New York, NY, USA
The "white" glass, etched with a white pattern, gives the appearance of a tall ship in full sail.
Located in the West Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, across from the Chelsea Piers and entertainment complex, The building is the NYC flagship building for the company.
The new IAC headquarters is a nine-story concrete tower with a sculpted glass facade. The glass facade of the concrete structure is insulated with a special coating that has patterned ceramic particles imbedded in it to improve energy efficiency.

The building's diagonal walls, tilted columns and irregular spaces allow for varied configurations and open-plan offices. A courtyard outside the building lobby was designed as a venue for events.

To reduce the overall scale Frank Gehry has broken the building down into 5 individual modules and set back the three upper penthouse towers to allow for rooftop terraces. Each of the modules, stacked in two tiers, is formed by giving a five-story rectangular solid a one-quarter twist. The edges of the rectangles become curves.

The new IAC headquarters was developed by IAC in partnership with Georgetown Company, a privately held diversified real estate company based in Manhattan.
