THE PETER B. LEWIS CAMPUS OF THE WEATHERHEAD SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
Case Western Reserve University
Cleveland, Ohio

This 143,000 square foot building will house the Weatherhead School of Management.
Exterior materials will be stainless steel panels, brick, and glass. In general, the highly sculptural metal-clad exterior surfaces will face away from the campus itself and towards the street. Exterior brick surfaces will face towards the campus and neighboring buildings. At the points where the metal panels and the brick meet, the brick will pinch inward in a slight curve in response to the metal.

The interior of the building will be plaster. The walls of the communal spaces within the interior will be highly sculptural. As these walls rise toward the roof of the building, they will play off of one another and respond to one another, creating a series of dramatic, canyon-like interior spaces. Skylights will allow slivers of natural light to filter down through these spaces.

The ground floor of the interior is dominated by two freestanding, highly sculptural shells which rise towards the roof of the building and which rest atop large sculptural columns. Two lecture rooms are located within each of these shells. Communal spaces, including a library, meeting areas, and lounges, occupy the remainder of the ground floor. Additional classrooms are located on the basement level, in a semi-circular arrangement. Administrative areas, offices, and meeting areas for professors and their staff are located on the upper floors along the outer edges of the building.
