I was sitting on the Patio......
(The name of an early Robert Wilson play)
I was sitting on the Patio in a new Gregory Evans chair..... thinking.... about the fuel situation and the gray skies in Europe....about how many exciting project I have collected for future features...... about not taking time off from work in the last six month...... about staying an extra week in LA for fun.......
Decided to stay an extra week.... called Josh Schweitzer and met him for lunch at El Ciudad; one of several restaurants designed by Schweitzer BIM. It was fun being there seeing it full of people after only having seen it in photos.

The crowded Dining Room.
The restaurant is owned by Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger who also own the Border Grill restaurants in Santa Monica and Las Vegas. El Ciudad, a nuevo Latino hot spot, has the most exotic Latin American menu and wild cocktails. I had Peruvian Tamales, Cuban Ceviche and a Rio style Capirinha cocktail.
Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger also have a popular TV show Too Hot Tamales and they have written several cookbooks.

Josh, married to Mary Sue, was telling me how she whips up the most exotic dishes in no time .......
Being two people who always think of new ideas we decided to start the CyberSpaceDiner at arcspace. Josh will design the Diner, Mary Sue will give us a new fun recipe each week, and we will take it from there......
Friday evening I went to a gala reception at Gemini G.E.L. A Night in Morocco to celebrate the works of Robert Rauchenberg Marrakitch and Darryl Pottorf The Moroccan Series (both Limited Edition Prints).

Saturday I visited Julius Shulman who will be 90 October 10th. As always, Julius Shulman has masses of plans.... he is off to Cologne, Germany in October for the publication of one of his two new books by Taschen. The first Modernism rediscovered a 576 page book with 1000 photographs of Historical Buildings, the second a complete Richard Neutra book. While in Europe Shulman will be speaking at four different venues...
I will give you the program next week in case you are interested in attending.
