The other day I happened to come across a 1979 catalog from "Environmental Communications" and I was amazed by the amount of interesting material they collected from contributors around the world. Environmental Communications produced and distributed slides, films and video tapes to schools, libraries and museums.
It was an interesting mix of Architecture, Art, Design and the Environment ranging from Paolo Soleri to Chicago Architecture to the Tokyo Environment to Islamic Architecture in Persia to Navajo Blankets to Mud Houses to Chinese Gardens to Le Corbusier to Edward Ruscha, Richard Diebenkorn and Christo......... and a lot more..
Knowing somebody who knew somebody I found the people from Environmental Communications and made plans to start a collaboration. In the month to come we will start digging into the old archives and select the best slide series to show you in a digitized version.
I promise you an eclectic collection of information...
